Environmental Policy

Introduction and Aim

Sparta Developments Limited is a family run Commercial Construction and Refurbishment Company, Operating throughout the whole of Yorkshire. We recognise that our operations result in the generation of waste material. Sparta Developments is committed to achieving the highest standards of environmental performance, preventing pollution and minimising the impact of its operations. The Companies aim is that no lasting environmental damage occurs as a result of its activities, and this policy is being implemented to ensure that all of our operations meet or exceed the requirements of legislation and applicable best practice.

Responsibility

This environmental policy applies to all of our operations including Office services and Construction site processes. Bob Elshaw, Company Director is ultimately responsible for ensuring that this policy is implemented, however, all the management team and employees have a responsibility in their area to ensure that the aims and objectives of this policy are met.

Resources

We will ensure that resources are available to enable us to achieve our objectives and targets.

Objectives

During 2010/2011, we aim to

• Reduce the generation of all waste material
• Inform all customers and suppliers of our commitment to reduce our environmental impact

Targets

To achieve our aims, we have set ourselves the following targets:

• Inform all new customers and suppliers of our environmental policy at the initial contact stage.
• Incorporate a training pack into the induction programme for new employees solely around our environmental policy.
• All Sub-Contract Personnel to have access to this policy and sign a declaration to adhere to this policy before carrying out any work on site.
• Ensure the company head office is recycling all waste material and working towards a paperless office environment.
• Advise all our clients on environmentally friendly options to their requirements.
• Work with Envirowise with an aim to adopt industry best practise and amend our procedures in line with this.

Monitoring and auditing

Progress against these objectives will be monitored through our monthly management meetings.
